Dear IAEG Member,
The IAEG as an association for economic geologists both in Ireland and abroad has been run on a voluntary basis since 1973. Members pay an annual fee to the IAEG and this is used to fund evening lectures, printing costs of the Annual Review, and to occasionally subsidise other IAEG events. All of the organisation associated with these events and publications is carried out by the Executive Council and IAEG members on a voluntary basis.
The membership fees for the Association have remained the same since 2010, generally reflecting the difficulties encountered throughout the industry and the wider economy. However, given the costs involved in providing a broad range of speakers and events to members, the Executive Council intends to increase the membership fees for 2018 in line with bye-law 1, section 10.1 of the IAEG Constitution.
The proposed changes will come into effect from 1st January 2018 and apply to all members for 2018. The changes are as follows:
|Membership Class||Current Annual Fee||2018 Annual Fee|
The IAEG Council remain committed to providing a variety of quality events catering to all members and always welcome suggestions regarding topics, speakers, and events that may be of interest.
